First Snow

I haven't wrote in a little over a month and a half. Because I have been very busy with work, housework (with more room it's hard to keep it all straight), papers, and relax time. I will try to write, but nothing really exciting is going on!

Here is a picture of the first snow of the season even before winter starts.

Snow in June ?!?

One day when I was walking to the market, I stumble upon what looks like snow literally in the street.

I had to take a few looks before I realized they were flowers not snow. But how cool is that ?

Snow !

While certain parts of the USA are experiencing bizarre winter weather, for example chez moi à Kentucky, Paris has snow! Now, it has not gotten to the point like last year when we got a blizzard in the course of the day and all of Paris, I mean France shut down. But it sure feels like it : the airports are on strike which is like they are closed and I don't want to leave home because it is way too cold, and I would rather not slip in the middle of the street! Plus I am already sick with a sore throat.

Hopefully it will last all day today. But not the whole week, my husband needs to work sometime this month so we can money for the month to come ! So Kentucky, send some of that spring like weather are way and we will trade you for our snow and ice !

Illumination aux Champs-Elysées

The best part of the Christmas season not to miss in Paris is the illuminations aux Champs-Elysées (yes you have my permission to break out into song)

is the Illumination and the Marché de Noël. This week it opened it's doors, Mélanie Laurent, a French actress, was in charge of pressing the button, along with Bertrand Delanoe, the mayor of Paris. Check the video out here!
There are 415 trees on "the most beautiful avenue in the world" from Place de L'Etoile to Place de la concorde, so more than 2km of lights!

The Marché de Noël

So, if you are looking for a fun time, and want to do some Christmas shopping or shopping of any kind, check out the marché, sip some hot chocolate, cider, or vin chaud, and capture the brightness of the Champs-Elysées.
