From Paris with love
Here is a video that helps put the Eiffel Tower and it's construction a little bit in perspective.

3 Words that I don't like hearing
"Vous êtes anglaise?" Are you English ? It seems like everywhere I go, I am asked at least three times or more a day this question. And I give them a stare and say rather annoyingly "Non, je suis américaine. No, I'm American". Sometimes it really gets on my nerves because I don't think an American French accent and English French accent sound the same. But maybe in the French's ears it does.
Sometimes, I think it's the fact that I speak good French and they assume an American doesn't know how to speak that well.
Today, I went to get my health insurance figured out, I will write about this later. But the man stopped me halfway through to ask if I was English and I said, no american. He was like but you speak really good French and I replied, I have a Masters in French and I work in France, so I need to speak really good French.
He then said "Très bien" and printed off my paper which proves that I have insurance and I went along with my day.
Feel free to share your stoires.

French TV
If you didn't know already, French tv sucks. There are no real Tv series. If you turn on the tv in afternoon, you will find Hercule Poirot, Monk, Desperate Housewives, NCIS, and The Simpsons reruns, and even more everyday. They are in French of course.
I mean there are a few French tv shows, like the ones that I previously mentioned "Money Drop" and "Un Dîner Presque Parfait". And sometimes, I can watch Desperate Housewives in English but the weird thing is that the English voices are not the same. It is like they translated it into French and then back into English!
So, usually our after dinner TV time is Turkish television, which that in itself is another post.
What are your thoughts about French tv?

Money Drop
Another one of my husband's and mine's favorite tv show "Money Drop" on tf1. Again the french are obsessed with using English, I swear English is going to becoming a second national language soon, like Spanish is in the States. So basically the show is you start off with 250K euros in cash and you have to answer a question. Usually there are 4 choices and you have a minute to put all the money on the right answer. and well you guessed it, if it is wrong then bye bye money !
so do you think you could win ?

Cream Cheese
The new trend in France is cream cheese, they even refer to it as le cream cheese instead of fromage crème.
Lately it seems like the French are obsessed with American baked goods and treats. First it was the hamburger, then cupcakes, whoppie pies now cheesecake and cream cheese. I am wondering what is next Apple crisp or Dairy Queen, not that I would object to either!
So maybe I should open a Cheesecake Factory on the Champs-Elysees, who's with me ?

Désolée mes Amis!
I know, I know, I have abandonned my blog for a while. I have had ideas of things to write, but I never opened the blogger page and wrote them down. I am so busy, I sometimes get so lost that I just zone out and lose track of time. So I promise to have at least one post a week from now on.
Also, if someone would like to write a post about a French experience please do not hesiate to contact me.
