For the past four months, my life has been dedicated to my final project for my masters basically a thesis in real-life form.
My project :
A flute festival of solo music which follows the form of a rondo : concerts, master classes and conferences. A rondo (you have probably all heard Rondo alla Turca by Mozart) is a musical form, vocal at first, alternating with a refrain and many couplets ; therefore, a festival that follows ABCA.
The festival will take place in Paris, France from May 27 to June 6, 2011. The guest artist is flutist, Heidi Pintner Alvarez, the professor of flute at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY, USA, and former student of Michel Debost.
27 May Concert Baroque at Eglise Saint Rita, 15th arrondissement
28 May Concert Contemporain at 38 Rue de Rivoli, 4th arrondissement
4 June Flute Day at IESA, 1st arrondissement
Check out the website for more details.
If you are interested in joining in on the festivities, do not hesitate to ask me. And you don't have to be a flute player, musicians and non-musicians welcome !
